Thank you so much for being here with us today. Hello and a warm welcome to this LEO full Moon episode. Diving into the medicine available for you physically, spiritually, and emotional, through a trauma informed lens. And I'm gonna delve into the folklore in this episode, and of course, speak to it through the lens of cycles. I'm paying a little attention to more hormonal cycles, and this is especially useful for all women, but women that might find themselves in the perimenopause. And after, the full moon, the moon will be full. In London on Sunday, the 1st of February at 10:08 PM So just the perfect time to, if you're still awake, to go outside and moon bathe in New York. It will be Sunday, the first of Feb at 5:08 PM and in LA at 2:08 PM So let's take a pause in this moment on the cycle, one of the show stopping points on the moon phase cycle. The moon is full. What does that represent for us collectively, but for you individually? So within Aquarius season is where this full Moon sits, and it can be, if you're post menopause, it can be a really good time to pause and feeling into your journey. So far, the things that you've put into place that you're celebrating, the things that have come into fruition. Any health niggles that might be illuminated in showing up under this full moon that might need a a moment's rest and some tender loving care. If you are using that beautiful mirroring of your menstrual cycle in the full moon, this can be the time of ovulation. As a perimenopausal woman, it might be that we dunno if we're ovulating or not, and this is why it's so beautiful too. Pauls tune in and track your body. So as a somatic coach, I always guide my community through a beautiful somatic listening and tracking, process. And I really, highly recommend that you do this. So maybe you cycle track, maybe you track the cycles of the moon, but the moon. It's intrinsically linked to our own bodies, the levels of hormones rising and falling, the hydration levels rising and falling, and the emotions that will also be gathering intensity and falling. And I've really noticed, that emotions, when they're intensifying, it's just the most beautiful time to feel them. And release them. That's what the full Moon really invites us to do. And if we were never taught as children and so many of us weren't, we were told to suppress whatever we were feeling or told to fit into this box and feel this particular thing at this certain time. Therefore, we really never learn how to feel our feelings and. Emotional intelligence is absolutely critical to healthy relationships, to healthy bodies, to mental health, and so that's why the moon phases are so perfect at just reminding us feelings might be coming up. How can I process them, and what can I do to support myself? I'm gonna speak to the folklore. Now, the February moon is often known as the cold moon or the quiet Moon. And also, I love this one, the stay at home moon, because, we are in midwinter 1st of Feb. In Imbolc midwinter and the Leo full Moon, they all align. And if you go back and listen to the episode about in imbolc, I really go into the folklore around the Callieach and Bridget goddess and what it means for us, a cyclical folk as well. So it could be what that we're at the coldest and the stillest time of winter for our ancestors. Maybe the food stores were low. The land was silent and survival depended on conservation, rest, and community. This was not a time to push forward. It was a time to turn inward, tend to the hearth and listen deeply. But how different is this from the world that we live in now? A world that asks women to stay productive, be pleasant. And just people pleasing, even when our bodies are calling for something different, for warmth, for slowness, for repair. So the moon's reminding us that rest is wisdom and stillness is actually strength as well. And the strength really comes from our inner flame. That's why the Bridget goddess is attached to this moon. But let's talk about the planets that rule each sign. The sun is the planet that rules Leo, and we'll be having this Leo full Moon energy for around three days, and it just reminds us that even in the depths of winter, this moon is asking us to lighten up and not bypass pain, but release what weighs the heart down. The body parts that are ruled by this moon are the heart and the spine. So although we don't have that external strength of the sun in the northern hemisphere in winter, it does live within us. The energy of this moon is really bringing forward that we should be embodying joy without outcome. Leo's really attached to, inner child and play without performance and innocence, that inner child innocence without the fear of judgment. And this is the medicine of fire. Not destructive fire, but the fire that warms, animates and restores vitality. So the message of Leo is simple but radical. You are allowed to take up space. I really am looking forward to this. I've had so many dreams about power, about empowerment, about coming back to my own power. And I know that this is also a collected theme as well, but I'm just gonna come back to, through the trauma informed lens. I wanted to come back to the body parts attached, the heart spine, spinal column, and particularly the upper back. The heart is our emotional center. It's also, a physical organ, but we know that love resides in the heart. The spine is our structure, our sense of self-support, our backbone. And if we're carrying tension or imbalance here, it might feel like tightness or pain in the upper back and shoulders under this moon, it might be highlighted. When that happens, we'll get more shallow breathing, so we get this tightness around the chest. It makes it difficult to. Breathe using the diaphragm and we breathe much quicker. It puts quite a lot of strain around the thoracic region of the body, and then it puts strain on our heart as well. So you might feel those little flutters of the heart, heart palpitations, but also that emotional link. It could be emotional heaviness, like a suffering, or even like a grief or that feeling of guardedness. Check your posture here as well. My loves. It might feel that you've got difficulty standing tall, really lengthening through the spine in fear of being seen. This can really be attached to not taking up space and full moons. They can also highlight when we're a little bit in balance with our hydration. So if you're dehydrated, it might be that. You don't feel thirsty, but you might feel tired or fatigued and you might get that, those wave of exhaustion. So just check in with your hydration and probably think about electrolytes at this time of the cycle. So you might be adding a pinch of pink salt, a slice of lemon or lime to your warm water in the winter. We really don't wanna be drinking cold drinks, so inviting you to really gently hydrate. Move your spine under this moon and find time to co-regulate. And all of this we will do in our online full moon healing circle. So let me speak through a trauma informed lens about power, courage, and we'll probably touch on the patriarchal wound here. We're gonna go into the deeper truth of this moon for women especially. Because women's power, intuition, pleasure, creativity, and authority have been systematically taken, shamed, or redirected outwards, not allowed to feel that pleasure just for us taking our power away so that we feel. More controlled and many of us, we learned to be agreeable instead of authentic'cause it felt risky to please instead of lead. So perhaps you've got that. Image of a bitch boss where we call her a bitch if she's trying to lead, but she's often trying to lead like a man and she bypasses the emotions of the team or of you. And we can lead with our heart and our head. I'm seeing this come through with new Earth definitely, you know when you check your posture, posture. Notice if you're tending to shrink instead of shine. This is really the embodiment of loss of power. And this can show up through our habits, like people pleasing I already mentioned, which means self abandonment, like putting everybody else's needs first. And then we lose our identity and we really tune into this at the time of the perimenopause as we are undergoing big changes in identity or as mothers. When your children might leave home, you start to think, well, who am I? I had to give. All of myself away and who is left. But also it can affect our mood. We can get really chronic anxiety and low mood and depression when we don't have a sense of self. And this can spin into autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, heart and spine issues. And for some women, especially in perimenopause, a devastating sense of invisibility, despair, and loves, this can even lead to suicidal ideation. So let's just take a breath there,'cause I know that can be truth and we aren't our thoughts, but. They can feel really overwhelming, especially at the time of the full Moon if we are not doing things to live in harmony with our cycles. So this lovely Leo Fire Moon is not just asking you to be confident overnight. It's asking you to remember your power and to slowly, safely, and in community. Remember that safety in your system so that you can shine your light. So I just wanted to do a really brief link to the mirroring of the hormonal arc through those seasonal changes and through the moon cycles. So when I talk about fullness fullness of the full moon in our seasonal pacing, this could be seen as season of summer and in inner seasons, this could be the time of ovulation or. Pregnancy. So there's this fullness, there's this,, feeling of estrogen rising expansion. And within our bodies we might feel this as more of a plumpness. You know, think of the plumpness of the moon. We might see that within our own bodies. So our cells are starting to get. Fuller with estrogen, a little bit more springy and bouncy. We might see it as the hair looking a little bit more full. You might even notice that your breasts and your cervix, position changes. They might be your breasts might feel slightly perkier this is why tracking's really good, and I can even link in the show notes to some really good trackers, particularly, a friend and a colleague called Adele Wimsett. She's known as like the hormone goddess and she works through the lens of A DHD as well. And she's also featuring in a few workshops inside the healing Portal. And if you work with me one-to-one, you'll also get access to some of the wonderful lectures that she's done. Inside our healing containers, but she's got some free trackers on our website that I'll linked to in the show notes. So remember why tracking's really important so that you can catch these cyclical patterns because things do repeat, but we always come to them with new levels of consciousness and awareness. So like I said, we do this in every single new and full online ceremony. The next four Moon online ceremony. It is on Sunday evening, the 1st of February, 7:30 PM tickets that are available on pay. What you Feel is right, and you can also get that on replay if you can't catch that live. I wanted to offer you some soul inquiries like I always do. So if you're not out and about, you might want to just pause and write these down. You might even place your hand on your heart or somewhere on your spine as you listen. Where have I given my power away in order to feel safe or loved? What part of me is ready to be expressed without apology? What would courage look like if it were gentle instead of forceful? Can you let these land in your body and not in your mind? Leo really reminds us to feel that joy fully. And in order to feel the joyfully, we need to feel all of our emotions fully. We must be willing to feel the grief, the anger, the longing, and. It's okay to feel big feelings around the time of the full moon or anytime, but it's okay to let go if you don't feel it's safe enough to let go. If you feel guarded or like you are wearing armor and protection, then that's the work I do through my trauma informed somatic programs. We need to create safety in the body within the nervous system and all the systems of the body before we really feel it's safe to let go and allow that power to really be felt within you. There's so much power that we have, our power lies within us, and then that will be mirrored. Externally. So it'll be really interesting if you do the work on this full moon where you get to on the Leo New Moon, which will be around August, and how you can start to, in a healthy way, use your power and authority to set your intentions and be the co-creator of a life that feels really joyful for you. If your body is longing for safe witnessing. Space to feel without fixing. Then those four moon and New Moon ceremonies are a really beautiful place to explore this. The space is trauma informed. We work with somatics, ancient seasonal wisdom, nervous system regulation. We usually put gentle movement in there to work with the body parts under the influence of the sign and a place to emotionally process. But also made for a modern woman, practical lifestyle, guidance for optimal health and a place to pause and honor and celebrate your journey. So as I close the episode, I just really wanna invite you to take a moment at this point in the cycle to look back and celebrate. It can be a really hard practice, especially if you're not used to doing it, but just notice and celebrate your journey, not for what you produce, but for, how far you've come. And this Leo four Moon reminds us that joy isn't frivolous, it's revolutionary. And so I hope that you take that. And thank you so much for being here.
