Welcome to this space with us, the Holistic Health Collective. Today, we're going to be talking about the portal that is open, the Leo Full Moon and how you can work with it as a woman with a huge heart that wants to give a lot and you're driven and you're navigating a very busy life, perhaps your own health challenges, and you often feel guilty about serving your own needs.
And you always help other people. And so we're going to be talking about how to work with this energy. And I'm Sarah. I'm a trauma informed somatic coach for women. So I really help women to activate their inner healer, to live a more authentic life, to know how to resolve their own pain, become their own sort of self care guru, and so let's talk about that Leo4moon. Leo Full Moon will be happening around the 12th of February, about 1. 53pm in the UK. And The portal is open for around three days, and we know full moons are a time of illumination. We can see the brightness of Grandmother Moon in the sky, and she is showing us the light.
She's showing us that it's safe to let some of those unresolved stresses and perhaps traumas to come into the light, to be resolved. So she's showing us where to work on our shadows. And if we're very conscious to them, then we'll be able to let the emotions flow through us. Or even the physical health symptoms flow through us, tend to them, and then let them go and not become attached to them or to the story of them.
And so it can be a really potent time of cleansing the full moon. And traditionally, women, tribally would come together and they would work together to let go to resolve to witness each other. To be seen, to be felt, to be held and to be healed as well. And Leo medicine really is about activating self confidence, ladies.
And this is quite a big one. This is often a seed that is planted in childhood. And so I'll speak to this through the trauma informed lens in those formative years from the womb space until seven or eight years when our nervous system is really It's forming and we don't really think from that cognitive part of our brain, we're just a sponge to information.
So whatever we are told tends to be our firm belief. So if you were told to not get too big for your boots or not be full of yourself or who do you think you are? Or perhaps, as a child, you would want to sing or dance or play act and you were told to be in reality to, to stop that, to grow up, those sorts of things, they can lead us to believe that we're not, it's not safe for us to be seen.
It's not safe for us to express ourselves. And then this seed tends to be watered throughout our schooling and beyond, living in the patriarchy, we are taught to be in competition. And that sense of competition really fosters. Individualism, right? And asks us to be a leader, but to try and beat everybody else.
And this doesn't really work. We are wired for connection. We are meant to take out spotlight and shine, but to value each other's gifts as all equal. And the archetype of Leo is Leo the lion. And Leo invites us to be bold and unapologetic and to take up the space that we deserve. And reminds us that we have the right to shine and be seen.
and to hold space for others to do that as well. So if you see another woman following her path and receiving all the gifts is to not be jealous or feel like you have to compete with her, but to really champion her and really celebrate her as she will for you as well. And we remember that four moons do bring transformation, so this moon's going to be asking you to break free of limitations and old beliefs and old stories that don't serve you anymore.
And so particularly through that lens of confidence and letting go of uncertainty and perhaps shyness. Now, Leo also rules the heart, so we love to give practical health tips. And the health tip for this moon would be to add some heart friendly foods to your diet this week. That full moon energy lasts for around three days.
On the 12th of February, it will be most potent, so the day before and the day after. Just thinking about what you're putting into your body that will really nourish your heart. And what nourishes the heart are the bitter flavors. red foods just thinking about where you can add them into your diet.
So things like chicory and chicory coffee red kidney beans, ceremonial cacao, chocolate, bitter chocolate, dark chocolate, or something like rose tea, which is a heart opener. So there's just a few lovely things. Things you can think about nourishing your body and a lovely soul inquiry or journal prompt would be Even if it feels a little bit scary How could you follow your heart a little bit more over this Leo full moon?
so perhaps sometimes we get an idea that Our heart might like to go in a certain direction and then the mind immediately comes in and says, no, you can't do that. That's not going to work for you or you tried that before and it didn't go right last time or what would that person think of you? And so really inviting you to start to use your heart as a compass and let your heart guide you a little bit more.
Even if you can't follow it, start to listen, you'll get feedback from your heart. And. Your heart is actually sending more messages to your brain than your brain is to your heart. And so the way that I really tune in is first of all just slow down and get a little bit quieter. And that's really great to do on a full moon.
Just schedule the time, 20 minutes, half an hour. And I like to do it in the evening and just connect with the energy of the moon and perhaps see the full moon light. And do some moon bathing. And sit with that inquiry. And I'll often drink a cup of ceremonial cacao because this really opens the heart and allows some of the shields around the heart just to be softened and let go in a gentle way.
And so we are holding a beautiful full moon ceremony. online in our community space called the Holistic Health Circle. And we do this every new and full moon. And we start to look at the limiting beliefs that are stopping you from maybe moving forward with your health goals, perhaps moving forward with your heart led desires in your life, perhaps causing disharmony.
In your relationships or your workspace, it's a really powerful time and it's more important that women come together at the time of the full moon because of our hormones we have the ability to satisfy our need for bonding through the chemical of oxytocin when we gather, whether it's online or in person, so you might seek out a red tent or a full moon circle or just perhaps a crafting thing.
